It's already only a week before the season starts and there's still no competition calendar; has anyone seen one? the WSA site only has 'check for updates'; how do they justify their wages over there? The BBC must be waiting on the WSA as their's starts last October and finishes with the EWC...

Pot Black????
And the Barbican for the UK????
Excellent news if true because living close to and working in York, I was really starting to enjoy the Barbican as a venue in its own right and think it does the prestige of the UK championship justice. I thought it was being knocked down by money grabbing ba*tards who wanted to turn the site into modern penthouses in the centre of York which would cost about £500,000 for a single bedroom / joint lounge kitchen area flat.

This list has now been confirmed on the WSA site; still too many TBC's. Apparently the Pot BLack is a single dayer event, weird. No mention of the British Open, Irish Masters or the European Open too. Is 5 ranking events enough, Ronnie'll go spare!
At least the players aren't having to rush back from halfway round the world (China) to get back for the World Championships; although they've left nearly 6 weeks between the Welsh Open and the Crucible.
(hey, Sonny, d'want your 91 put on the High Break Board? You old gunslinger you)

Hi Paul, we looked at the fixture list on the WSA's website and it does indeed only list a paltry 5 events; a congested Premier League'll keep a few busier than the rest; normally doesn't end before Christmas.
Did you hear Mike Hallet seem to stutter over the lack of tournaments? I need to look up his role within the game, but the way he said, "We're trying to address that", suggests things may change and he's got something to do with that; but maybe not for this year, you never can tell with the WSA. It's a shame that when you look at the 2005-06 Main Tour calendar of tournaments, they need to pad it out with mentioning the Qualifying events when really they should be in a separate appendix.
