very true!! I had a long hard think about it before posting it.
Then i thought, with 140odd amateurs taking part and only 16 professionals, it would only be right to dedicate this thread to us amateurs,
Anyway, to start with there were only 6 pros supposed to be turning up, the whole thing has run out of control

I will do my best to do a livish report fom there

Just got back to to the digs, having a good laugh up till now.
Topped my Group with a 2-1 win over the German number 1.
The English boys are enjoying themselves and are well impressed with the event.
Michael Holt was playing some good snooker and wacked in a ton in his first frame.

I play my next match tonight at 10ish and if I get through I should get Barry Hawkins

It´s good to have some english around me again

          Thanks for the advice MAC

Chuffed for you JayJay, can't beat mixing it with the Pro's to re-focus yourself; wonder what the chances are you could impress yourself again? You'll be written about on the website if you carry on like this..... in fact, lets get the Google out now!

Rest up and clear your head over a nice meal... look forward to your next update and good luck.

The standing ovation that Paul received today was something else, it was good to see him back on the table.
I suppose the biggest upset so far is David Gray getting knocked out in the last 64.
I am well happy about reaching round 2, and having played against a superb Barry Hawkins, he was on a comfortable 147 course in the second frame untill he got an unlucky split at 80.
The Match finished around 1am, just in time to go clubbing

Just having a rest before the players party tonight, the whole event is a major success.
I hope this event will make a few people at the top of snooker wake up a bit, Germany and Poland are two huge fresh snooker markets, as where I believe the chinese market that the WSA are so eagerly chasing, is already saturated and has been for a long time.

some picture people; no TV coverage; shame. Looking at WorldSnooker.com website, it's a though this tournament doesn't exist; no BBC news either.

But hey, we've a bona-fide lofty competing player in our midst that sounds like it was a great experience for.... if you had a camera with you Jay, we'd love to see some pix/footage.

Can you manage to stay round and see the climax of the tournament? Funny if Hawkins won it eh.... "At least I lost to the eventual winner" is always a comfort.

(http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mbfivelive/...thread=1122702 someone's in for a shock if they think they can put a disclaimer of the source of where they've copy'n'pasted a whole report from the WSA's website.... it's on the BBC too!)

I am Home now, after 4 long days of quality snooker.
The tournament proved to be a huge success, and has exceeded everyones highest expectations.
This tournament has been the nuts, and it will prove to be the start of many exciting Pro-Am events to be staged in Germany and the rest of Europe.

Mark King stated in is Victory speech that a Main Tour event was overdue in Germany, which I promptly followed with a loud roar of approval.
He quite rightly praised the brilliant crowd at the event, they were phenominal.
I myself was impressed with enthusiasm and the level of Knowledge that was reflected and shown by the crowd over the 4 days of the event.

Personaly, I had a very good tournament, recently based on the advice of forum coach MAC, I decided to change my atacking style and work on my safety, seeing the way the lads have played here I will be taking back a lot more to work on.

Here is a foto of Barry and I, and my good friend Trevor Foord who refereed the match.

This is the location, which just was made to measure for this event

I will post any links for galleries as the become available, I am not very happy with the quality of my fotos

Just a small tweaking needed on this pic Jay.

Now your appetite's been whetted you'll be a Pro-Am junkie now... maybe there's a future tournament in Neubrandenburg on the horizon ??

There's a lot to learn about playing in proper tournaments; some people who never get the chance would actually do quite well and they don't even know it; some only need a mere flick of their rudder.... others an overhaul.

Looks a great event, doubt we'd've know anything about it otherwise; not with such notice anyway - cheers matey.

                          step 1 Club
step 2 event of same calibre

I got a meeting on thursday with the owner of the place, hoping to get it confirmed soon. He still prefers to find a buyer, but he wont find one
The German Open has taken my motivation to a whole new level.

Once I get this club opened up, I have loads of ideas, starting with inviting schoolclasses for PE and ending with kickass Pro-Ams.

I think it´s only right that we keep the ball rolling, and keep setting standards.

work on that reputation; got any team Leagues you can attempt to win? Any local tournaments looking for a venue? Exhibitions can be big events especially with year long competitions with a prize of playing the Pro. A German Resident Pro with promising talent for practice partners. A High Break Board!!! Photos of you and some Pro's. A money prize snooker Ladder. Junior coaching. Invent a new type of Twinning - but with a prestigous snooker club in the UK.

And more opportunities as you'll find out.

RS you know what the score is.
That is the direction we will be heading in.

A week before the German Open, we went to what they call a GOSR **tournament to get our final match practice or dress rehearsal if you like, thats where I found out that I needed a new suit because my stomach is groing I hate being 30

The trouble is that Germany is very big, and our second nearest tournament club is 3,5 hours away.
We will be entering a team for a qualifcation tournament next year, which could qualify us for the 2nd division of the German Snooker Bundesliga

thanks for the tweak, I havn´t got a clue pic processing
