Not bad from Mark Allen overall however qualifying for a tough group and in the shorter format has a chance of qualifying later for the final stage.

Looking at his matches, he was 2-1 up in all of them (apart from the loss against his idol (as he called him), Stephen Hendry).

Elsewhere Stephen Hendry needs to beat Ali Carter to qualify. If he draws or loses, who goes through out of Williams and Perry as they both have the same points and same frame difference?
In fact, if Hendry wins 3-1, Carter, Williams and Perry would all have the same points and frame difference!

It might be too soon to say this.. However, anyone willing to bet that next year there will be "Three times enough" rule, meaning that a player can be put through to 3 Championships league groups at the most?
Robbo's potting is so good he doesn't need to bother with positional play like the rest of the players. He laughs in the face of those who spend hours on the practice table perfecting their cue ball control! ~ Forman

Well done Mark Allen! joining Mark Selby in the final group. Coming from 2-0 down against 2 centuries from Joe Perry in the final.
Again, Ding wins the group, but loses in the semis.

                Group 1 - Mark Selby.
                Group 2 - Mark Allen.

Maybe Ding should consider changing to Mark Junhui.

I knew I shouldn´t have said this so early.

Anyone actually watching this event on here? It´s so silent on TSF.

I've watched all Mark Williams' matches today. It's great to watch what this man can do when there are no ranking points involved.

Wouldn't it be great to have him winning the Welsh Open next week?

João... I think it would be FANTASTIC for Williams to win!
He is one of my favourites... a funny, passionate player who brings outstanding skills and character to our sport.
