    yet another moaner.

of course, with only 5 ranking events a year, we should not have this kind of 'problem'.

A chance for Hendry tomorrow to make QF, that wouldreally boost his Top 16 chances, but he`ll still need to collect points in PTC`s.

Well a few surprises so far and apparently World Cup did not do any good for either Higgins or Carter.
Reminds a bit of last years Shanghai Masters with quite a lot of seeds going out in early rounds and the standart pretty low. But since it`s the first ranker, not too surprising to see surprises.

Early hours? Not ideal, but now since its almost the 3rd week a bit used to that!

Who is to say Hendry will beat Selt? The way this week is going who knows?

Though I bet Hendry knew who he'd rather be playing.

I think Hendry is a slight favourite. He played well in a couple of frames against Gould, especially when it mattered, but we kind of expect a poor 2nd round performance from him these days. Still, with Higgins out of the picture, he will fancy the job.

Selt was OK against Higgins, but he got many gifts to get back into the match. It could have been a heavy defeat for him, if Higgins was his usual self.

Meanwhile, what a struggle Williams-Pinches has been. Not great early morning entertainment.

Good win for Liang Wenbo against Stevens. Three seeds have already gone out in this quarter and Selby is currently trailing Perry 1-3. If Selby goes out as well, it would leave the quarter wide open.

Shame if the one tournament that Selt progresses in, Mark Selby goes out. I want to see a Selby vs Selty match.

Ken Doherty vs Liang will be interesting. Liang has struggled for form, if you don't count the World Cup that was a team game. But Ken is past his best too.

This could turn out to be a pretty interesting quarter-final line-up. I'd love to see a decent tournament run by Ken Doherty and Stephen Hendry. Though, I may just be dreaming.

Hendry already 2-0 behind and the 3rd is tied at 51.

Looks like a 5-3 win for Selby...

Does it be the first quarterfinal of Selt?

Yes...he had never won a match in the televised stages of a ranking event before....and now he is in the QF after he defeated Higgins and Hendry.

Great wins for Ken and Liang, both playing pretty well at the moment, might see an interesting clash.
Amazing stuff from Selby, Joe played wery well but Selby has grinded it out
Shame Stephen is gone, that was his chance to go deep in the tournament. Might be going to qualifiers soon, sigh..
But well played Matthew Selt, good luck to him against Murphy

It seems that the previous season had got succeed, Selt also first got into Top 48 last season.

Now with R1 completed, we saw just 6 Top 16 seeds progressing into the Last 16 round and Hendry has already lost.
                                Pretty interesting stuff, isnt it?

Selt vs Murphy? I cant see an upset there. Shaun looks pretty fresh since he spent the week in Australia rather than playing in Bangkok, which doesnt look like did any good for quote a few of those involved.

Standart doesnt look too high at the moment, but looking at how it went last year, the only way is up, could be that we see all the guns blazing in the UK again...
