A (sort of) Review
So, to recap:
Selby, Higgins, Ding, Davis and O'Sullivan pulled out.
Fu, Ebdon, Cope, Doherty, Carter and King (along with other names) have fallen at the first hurdle.
And my question to you is, WHAT IS GOING ON!!!Winner of Ja's Super Special Grand Prix Lucky Dip 2009

A clue on what's going on?

Ali Carter claimed he "wasn't really bothered" by his first round exit from the new Bahrain Snooker Championship.
The 29-year-old world number seven became yet another big name casualty in the Middle East after being humbled by Dublin qualifier Michael Judge.
Judge, ranked 23 places below Carter, battled back from 3-1 down to win 5-3, meaning Carter will fly back to the UK on Wednesday morning.
Shaun Murphy, Peter Ebdon, Ken Doherty and Graeme Dott, all former world champions, have already been beaten in the Gulf.
And Carter, a finalist at the Crucible this year, said: "I wasn't really bothered with this event.
"The UK Championship and the Masters are the two that I am focusing on.
"Obviously I still wanted to win coming here but my focus is on the other two events."
tut-tut Ali
But Ali is probably only saying aloud what most top 16 think in the privacy on their mind. He could get stick for this of course: it's not very nice for the organisers especially as this is the first ranking event in Bahrain ... (so right, sometimes a wee lie is better than openess or at least more diplomatic )
And ROS is probably not the only one in need of some rest: the GP coming just one week after Shanghai wasn't a piece of cake especially considering the time difference. Looking back at the results none of those who reached the quarters in Shanghai had a really good GP with the noticable exception of Day ... who just was outed now by a rather unconvincing Stevens.
It's a shame for this new tournament that it turns out this way.Proud winner of the 2008 Bahrain Championship Lucky Dip

At least he went and played
Snooker players are odd though - they moan when there aren't enough tournaments and then they moan when new ones are put on!Proud winner of the 2008 Bahrain Championship Lucky Dip
