  • Spoke to soon - Neil long potting has been very good this match and pots a superb red and knocks the black perfect. The balls are all set up now. Now can he handle it?

    • But Neil loses position poorly and misses again. Tough clearance for Mark...
Ball tied up with pink and ball on cushion. Nice pot down the cushion screwing back which suited him being left handed and nudges the pink and red when potting a red with rest and from here surely child's play...And it is now 5-4...

          • Neil was the better player and deserved to win. He looked a little nervous in the last few frames when amongst the balls, but his long potting looks to be back on fire. Well played.

I think Mark can be happy with his tournament - 3 centuries in his last match was something, but there's an element of carelessness that he needs to cut out.

Allen didn't look too well today ... not just snookerwise. Looked pale and tired.

                • Neil is back! And so is Matthew
Couldn't be happier with the final set-up (well, apart from my silly predictions)

He has a temperament problem. He looked like a loser in the last frames, where Neil really conquered the table like we haven´t seen it since 2007.

He almost hit Maguire levels of looking ropey.

The majority of the time Maguire looks like he's just stepped into the arena after a late night of indulgence! I'm sure simply ironing his shirt collar to a crisp edge would help smooth his rough edges somewhat! He did win points for a dandy grey ensemble yesterday though.
