Was just wondering that as this is a invitational event only restricted to the World's top 16, how having seen the draw, the Nugget is in it.

It's an invitation event. The invite people who they think would make for a good tournament.

The press release that annoucned the tournament said "It will be an invitation event featuring 12 of the top players in the world rankings plus four wild cards, with prize money of at least $200,000."

Why do you think Ronnie isn't in it? He's not in it because it's in Brazil. That's not in the UK, so he didn't go.

Ronnie made it perfectly plain some time ago that his ranking and his career in general are going to come second to his kids, as he has very limited access to them apparently. Aside from his apparent dislike of being away from home in general(which is likely to be linked to his depression and the tragedies of his early career), so I wouldn't bet on him appearing at any tournament overseas, reardless of the money or the format.

That's a shame, man.

If the sport is popular in that country, you should at least have access to watching it. It's a shame that some big stars can't be arsed to be there, and an even bigger shame if the fans who want to go can't afford to, or it's too far away.

There's nothing more intoxicating then being at a venue live, and it sounds like they are denying you the opportunity.
