He´s outside top 16 now, and has Cope and Walden in front of him, so he needs a win and Cope and Walden loosing as well.

Well, nobody in the history has handled pressure better than Hendry. Maybe this will bring a bit of vintage Hendry out.... he's on the ropes, time to fight.

It doesn´t look easy for Hendry now. He needs to win at least first round at the cruicible and at the same time to get one stage further than Cope or Walden, so if one of them wins their first match, Hendry will have to beat Selby, which require that he finds his best form.

I see then why Hendry seemed super prepared - not just form (blowing stevens away) but attitude too - for this China Open... All those snookers against Ding, usually he's way more 'impatient'.
Cope losing in China's R1 doesn't help?
Seems Hendry is in big trouble, both Cope & Walden are likely enough to cope with WC R1...

With Ronnie... it's just overly strange and almost means bye-bye,
but with Hendry it would feel... so sad. Like being forced out. Him feeling ashamed / angry on himself (?), it's a lot about pride / status. And for him it woudn't be easy to win every qualfiers round to get back to top16 later...

Steve Davis plays qualifiers and doesn't complain though.
Jimmy White's statements on come-backs often enough sound kinda funny...

I find the semifinal line up very interesting. Three underachievers Selby, Murphy and Trump and Ding who´s only about to fullfill the expectations, and Selby and Ding must off cause be amongst the favorits in the first half of the cruicible draw.
