Does anyone know anything about Ian Preece? He was apparently a brilliant junior, then seemed to disappear for a few years. So far this season though he's won 9 qualifiers and made the televised stages of 2 events from an unseeded position. From struggling to hold his place on the tour he's now looking like a top 32 player.

Anyone else keeping an eye on these qualifiers?

The big match on at the moment is of course Bond-White. Nigel took the first with a decent break, Jimmy's just hit back to take the second with a nice 93. 1-1

McManus also went a frame down to Joe Jogia but has now levelled it and is in again in the third.

Holt made an imediate 66 in the first but broke down and had to scrap it out to get over the line. He's done the same in the second, a 68 this time and Fergal's coming back at him.

And just a quick word about the youngsters - Fu is 1-1 with Trump, Allen 2-1 down to Hicks.

Yes, I just started to check up on them as well,
the Wattana game seems to be quite fast, looks like 3-1 now against Spick

and Perry 1-1 Ford (with Ford on 61-30 points in the third)

McManus made a 60 something to take frame 3 and lead 2-1. Jimmy currently in on 23, leading the frame 37-10 with frames still tied at 1-1.

Holt managed to get over the line again despite a valiant effort from Fergal. Holt leads 2-0

Update: Jimmy broke down on 29 but got in again shortly after and managed to finish off the frame. 2-1. He's in again on 33 in frame 4.

Jogia is in in frame 4 against McManus. Fergal is putting a good break together in an effort to take his first frame, 56 and counting. Fu looks like going 3-1 up on young Trump, Allen also struggling against Hicks, currently 3-1 down at the interval.

He'll have to wait until the next frame for his 147. Jimmy broke down on 39, Bond now in.

Update: ...but Bond couldn't put anything substantial together and a 70 break gives Jimmy a 3-1 interval lead.

                          Jimmy takes a scrappy 5th for a 4-1 lead

...And is leading frame 6 40-0, in on a break of 35. Can he nail it here?...

No. Jimmy breaks down on 35 and Nigel now in on 7.
