  • Graeme Dott should be given the credit he deserves. I keep saying that about whoever O'sullivan plays. A fantastic player and unstoppable on his day but his ego wont allow him to realise that tactics and safety ARE PART OF THE GAME.
Ok it's wonderful to to watch but you cant do it all the time, it's impossible and whenever he comes to realise that fact he may actually give his fans and the betting public value for money because at present he is so volatile you would have to have cash that you are prepared to burn.
So give the players who play him and win the respect they deserve because he doesn't.
I only wish he would because snooker would be the better for it.

i agree with much of that.

But im not sure about the refusal to play safety being an ego thing. He used to play safety, and played it well too. Its just this season, and this tournament in particular he has adopted a kamikaze style in his shot choices. He was lucky to get through his earlier matches this week playing like that. Against someone who takes their chances well - like Dott did today, it is inevtiable he will come unstuck.

      • I can't help thinking that whenever Ronnie adopts this kamikaze style of his, it's just a defiant reaction to when he is in a bad mood. "I can't be bothered, snooker sucks, doesn't matter if I take this on, I don't care..." stuff like that.

All credit to Graeme, tho! Should be a good final!

        • Commentators were just talking about another possible ranking event either next season or the season after in Shanghai. Hope so, the more the merrier.

            • What drama is going on here?

Barry missed an easy brown to win the match and it went on a rollercoaster from there. Jamie got his snooker and somehow won the the frame. 5-5 now! What a match!

              • What drama! Hawkins 5-4 up and 60-3 up misses a simple brown. Cope needs a snooker, gets it then clears up to the pink. He misses the pink and leaves it over the pocket but he snookers Hawkins behind the black. Hawkins misses and Cope clears Pink and Black to make it 5-5. Tense stuff.

                      • Jamie Cope's shot selection in this match has been a bit suspect and it could be found out by Dott tomorrow.

Cope 19 ahead with just 18 on the table.

                            • What a brave comeback by Barry Hawkins! So hard and he fought his way through so well! He certainly didn't deserve that last black to stay in the jaws. Well done, Jamie, but it should have been Barry...

edit: That sounds a bit wrong. Jamie did well to win it but... Barry, oh Barry...
