Ah yes, I was going to say that I was only guessing that it was the black, and it could have been the pink... I only saw that both players were well into the 60s when my screen opened. Was it a good finish then?

As a not-too-keen fan of either of the players, it was. There seems to be a tiny little Chinese inside my head, I went oooh and aaaah along with the crowd. All in all a good watch indeed!

Would've loved to have seen the other match, though!

        • Ken lost! Argh!

Anyway, I'm pleased about the fact that either Jamie Cope or Barry Hawkins will play in the final. It's good to see (relatively) new faces going through. Good luck to them both!

          • I am surprised Barry got back to business as he could not pot a ball all season. Where does this sudden good form come from? Is it the momentum, maybe playing in a total different surroundings? Anyone?

Well he did get to the Final of the Kilkenny Masters so that must have gave him confidence. Although I don't think he had to play many of the top players until the final.

              • i missed that one. I always rated Barry as a player to win a ranking tournament. I am suprised how things are changing. Ding, Hendry and Murphy all looked into good shape to have a go at this tournament and the world title. Suddenly Barry hawkins is in good nick and Dott seems to have a go at The Crucible Curse!

There was a lot of sudden jumps (Robertson, Cope, Higginson), and dunno where they got form?

                  • Ronnie O'Sullivan v Graeme Dott

Dott takes the first frame. It started out with a break of 44 from ROS, then a 78 for Dott. 0-1

Dott his press conference yesterday: "If I play the way I played today, it'll be a classic match." I hope so, and I do wish they'd slow down a little until Eurosport starts showing it

Frame two: ROS started off with 65, Dott answered with 68 in two visits to the table. 0-2

                          • I remember a match between Dott and O'Sullivan in which Dott took the first 5 frames and then lost 18-8. So who knows.

In a first to 6 though, its "a big ask" for Ronnie now as John Virgo would say.
