    I am worried, as well.
Yes, the lad has potential...to go even further with this behaviour. I wonder if a punishment from WSA will really affect him, because he seems not to care about others and their opinions. I believe ROS is a lost case.....

No, I don't know more than all of you who have tried to reach the site. It says: "This Account Has Been Suspended". I think, this means that someone forgot to pay the bill.

I would guess that he was in a what is known as a 'manic' phase. This would completely explain his crazy and recklesss suicidally impatient snooker, and his dreadfully childish, embarrasing interview.

            Is this an excuse ?

Maybe not, but it is an explanation that makes a lot of sense.
Thank you for this post, dannydOg.
I don't know if this is an excuse, but, as you say, it could be an explanation for an absurdly uncontrolled behaviour.. Maybe it would be too private and speculative to discuss it here. But everybody who is interested in the two states of this disease, the manic and the depressive one, can get information on the net.
Ron seemed to be completely out of control as early as during the match. So I was shocked when I was watching the vid but not surprised.

All valid, but where is his coach, his staff to prevent those things happening.

This is one of the questions I have been asking myself since I saw the vid.

I wonder who the person next to him at the conference is. The person whose picture was posted over here and whom, instead of suggesting to Ronnie to stop doing whatever he was doing, since they were in the middle of an official press conference, actually encouraged him and can be heard giggling like a school-boy, as well.
Someone from Ronnie's staff who doesn't know his best interest, that of making his employer look good?
I am not trying to blame anyone else here, but it's common sense. When you see someone close to you, whether professionally or personally, act like that in public you don't do a thing?

Exactly. Its what i have noticed that even top snooker players are often accompanied by mediocre incompetent staff. I am pretty sure Reardon was not next to him, would not have happened. Where is he nowadays?

I've not been able to watch the video, but the article from the Guardian said enough I think.

Worst thing a pro has said since Alex Higgins said he wanted Dennis Taylor shot.

WSA can't, and won't, ignore this. Actions will be taken, one way or the other. They are furious at Ronnie right now, not because of the remarks but because the bad PR in China this will give if it "comes out" over there.

One should be very careful to make any conclusions regarding Ronnie's medical status, from some video clips and websites.

                        Thanks, Tip.
But slap my ears and call me terminally deaf if I heard anything remotely similar to certain things present in this article and namely in this transcript. The part where RO'S was allegedly making comments about his genitalia seems very much "planted", if I may say so.
Am I that hard of hearing or what? Because playing with a mike is one thing and being that explicit a totally different one.
Yeah. Splitting hairs. You know me.

I dont know whether they have a possibility to sanction him, as it was made after the match. If a football player says the ref was an @rsehole after the match, the FA cant do anything. Dont know if the WSA have any rules on it.

I'm sure they have opinions about how their member pros should behave during a compulsory press conference. Whether it'll be an offical sanction that will bring much unwanted publicity or if they will choose a more informal way, we don't know yet.

The last of my respect for Ronnie vanished today. There are no excuses for saying those awful things.

It's something Ronnie will be aware of more than anyone, especially now. But that kind of subconscious masochism giving in and breaking out into inappropriate hysteria is not something that can be avoided again after a chat. A punishment won't help either. People don't seem to understand this because they're so quick to stick the knife in all the time. That's why i made the point earlier than pushing it in terms of asking futile questions about the match is mistimed, insensitive and pushy at such moments. The visual messages transmitted during the match should have offered enough information, which should have been left at that.

What insight will a post-match interview offer at times when Ronnie is not feeling well? More insight into the match or inappropriate intrusion into his mind? They are not damn therapists. They can write whatever they want without jabbing for answers for their own egotistical amusement. And to think people judged Ronnie when he 'politely' refused to say anything before to save himself the misfortune of what happened yesterday. That's probably what got to him so much yesterday - the added pressure of having to say something in a foreign country or receive further vacuous scorn from some people.
