  • Why wouldn't it be on a par with what he did? Because we're annonymous over here? But then again, it's your opinion & you're totally entitled to it as is everyone so fair enough.

because were here commenting on things said by a professional snooker player, which were doing, even when they do "bad" things

the only part i disagree on is you not thinking a scolding thread was needed

i dont say its needed, but i say its as valid a thread as one which is saying well done to a player when theyve played well. if the posts are mostly negative its because hes said things most think arent called for

so, you posted your opinion on the thread content. i disagreed with it. so, i will go back to the thread in general without posting back and forth about why we both have different opinions. thanks

christ all mighty you cant let him or anyone else do what he wants can you or there will be bloody shambles.....but in the big sceme of things that was nothing and all the fuss it has caused has been bloody stupid..................

          • There should be no fine, no points deduction, just a ban from this year's world championship. This has to be done to restore snooker's integrity. Ronnie will be hurt by that and he has to feel hurt for what he is doing to the game. Fining him £50,000 means nothing to him, deducting him a few ranking points means nothing and he has proved this by ducking out of this tournament at the earliest opportunity.

WSA need to stand up now and deal with him. It is now or never.

Impossible. The Worlds are just three weelks or so away and the last time it took the disciplinary committee 6 months to decide on the walk-out. There's no way they can reach a conclusion this fast, unless they turn into Speedy Gonzales.
And I'm willing to eat my hat with mustard and put it on Youtube if Ronnie is banned from the Worlds.

              • Well, I really am making my last statement on this matter......

How ironic that the banter in the interview is between Ronnie and the 'WSA Media Officer'

Ronnie isn't the best at controling his attitude infront of the media..... Fact!

The WSA have a 'Media Officer' to ensure smooth running of media issues.. Fact!!

                What a huge joke!!!!!!

Lets make snooker illegal - WORLDWIDE
                Highest Break
                Practice: 136 (2005)
                Match: 134 (2006)
                In 2011: 94
                Centuries made: 50+

                • I agree with Thinsy, I am more shocked by the news that the person sitting next to Ronnie was the WSA media officer, than i am by Ronnies carrying on.

I find it absolutely unbelievable and farsical that he seemed to go along with Ronnies behaviour. The guy is clearly not worthy of the job of media officer and should be sacked.

Its also surprising that the Chinese media have not picked up on what really happened.

Ronnie could loose his watch contract and apparent good image in China if this gets out over there.

From what i know of The Chines they are very proud, and would be grossly insulted if they understood what Ronnie was really doing.

                  • I can only subscribe to that thinsy. Sir Rodney has now issued a statement where he qualifies Ronnie's attitude as inacceptable. Fine. It is. But what annoys me is that there isn't a word there about their own man, hence their responsibility in the incident because he did not do his job ...
Ronnie will be punished, deservedly. But the whole incident could and should have been avoided completely if a certain media officer had done his duties ... instead of indulging in the banter himself and actually encouraging the whole thing.

                    • A WSA Officer????? Can't stop laughing. One of life's little ironies. Even the Monty Pythons can't have written or played better sketches..

A ban from this year's World's? Whom? Ronnie or the Officer? To ban the first would be a good idea.
What could happen? He could quit to have a life. Good luck, Ron

And then? No topics any more, and one of us would have to look for another player for obsessively giving him names.

I am off, hoping this thread will be closed soon. It's enough, don't you think so, too?

It's actually no news this very player gets special treatment by the board so why should the press marionette get slaughtered for it?

Sunflower, why should this thread be closed?

                          Yes, indeed. Although highly unlikely.

Naaah, Sun, let's take it to the 200 mark and beyond, where no man has gone before. Come on, one more tiny effort. Look, we've been "at it" for two days now and no signs of fatigue yet. COME OOOOON!
And please, esteemed disciplinary committee, hurry up and decide. And make sure you leave Mr. Hirschowitz out of it, too, since he's blameless.

Awww, TSF won't let me quote like this. So please disregard this paragraph, it's for functional purpose only.

                          • I wonder why everybody has to post his "opinion" here-but let this thread run to infinity-there a lot more opinions out there to come-as BlacK_Cat said-in about six months there might be an opinion from WSA, too
                            Much ado about nothing?

Because he was not simply a marionette ... he actually was bantering and laughing with him. He should have tried. He could have failed. But he did neither ... he encouraged it ...

Err, because it's a message board?

Now there's a call for closing this thread and you consider it much ado about nothing. I consider it quite an absurd attitude to end discussions this way.

Monique, he is a marionette. That's the work of a press officer. Imagine the even bigger scandal if he'd publicly reprimanded Mr. O'Sullivan.
