In fairness, saying ""You've got to be stupid to make those comments. However, Ronnie's not stupid when it comes to publicity." is not the same as "branding O'Sullivan 'stupid'", as the BBC's headline claims.

Well what can he say? It was stupid...
By the way, Higgy said "naive" ...
I wonder if the whole interview is available somewhere? It would not be the first time that some sentences - triggered by well directed questions - are picked out and presented out of context for maximum impact...
And actually the whole article speaks more about Higgin's projects for a tour than about the last of Ron's faux pas!Proud winner of the 2008 Bahrain Championship Lucky Dip

The most interesting thing about that article to me is that O'Sullivan finally recognizes that he doesn't go to China to win. I can't remember him ever touching on that before as he usually just gives us clichés (the better man of the day won etc etc.) after losing.Last edited by doorag; 6 May 2008, 08:06 PM.

He'll get a massive fine from worldsnooker for bringing the game into disrepute or conduct unbecoming of a professional, as well he should.

Due to his great wealth though, I think something like that would be like an average person getting a £60 parking ticket. Annoying yes, but its hardly going to break anyones bank.Last edited by dannyd0g; 9 May 2008, 10:52 AM."You can shove your snooker up your jacksie 'cos I aint playing no more!" Alex Higgins.

I don't think it'll be a mere 20 grand - I would take away any money earned in China, whether through competing or sponsorship - quarter of a million would be nice
