I can see him getting a real bashing one of these days, and I don't mean on the table!
Frame we all know what your ab-normal feelings are to O'sullivan, but to call him the names you have just once again copy what you are complaining about. You cant win an argument by acting with the same poor caveman behaviour, your comments could have easerly been made also by a 16 year old

      • I personally think it was very brave of Ronnie to stage a personal protest at the oppression of the Tibetan people.

Stupid comment from a non-Ronnie fan - 1 over par, everyone saw it coming.

You don't have any evidence to support your assertion that he was forced to make an apology - and I'm sure he didn't need to be forced- he certainly knows how to apologise by now

Honestly, the Chinese powers that be are probably a thousand times less offended with Ronnie on his off day than they are with anyone daring to suggest that Tibet should be independent. :snooker:

                • They always take months- it was something like March when the hearing for his November walkout of the UK came through I think.

There are a lot of immature comments appearing on this thread. Anyone who has spent a significant time in China wouldn't make such flippant comments. Yes, they are different from us in the way they live but I reckon that is a good thing. There is no tolerance to the kind of behave we have to put up with every day here. This country has declined in terms of its respectful behavioural patterns and it has become the accepted norm to be aggressive and surly and O'Sullivan's behaviour is a reflection of that. The Chinese should have been left in charge of the disciplinary matter. If they had O'Sullivan may not have even been at Sheffield. Everything about our society is becoming more and more negative and O'Sullivan's ignorance has unfortunately drawn praise when it should have been widely condemned. It is a sad reflection of Britain in 2008. I am not sure if posters on here appreciate what could have happened to O'Sullivan if he had just been 'an English guy on the street in China' and made those comments. Limbs may have been lost.

                    • I actually think it's great that the Chinese press chose to pretty much ignore this all together when it first happened. That way they didn't give him attention for the rude behavior, only when he appologised.

Ronnie's behaviour was completely unacceptable and as a 32 year old with 2 kids he really should be more mature than that. The WPBSA has to fine him quite considerably but it is difficult to see what punishment would be suitable as he doesn't seem bothered about missing tournaments and he certainly wouldn't miss a few grand in a fine.
It is such a shame because what a fantastic talent the man has for snooker but obviously not very balanced mentally. To say that he didn't think the press conference was being recorded beggars belief!

Well if you think he knew, then the WPBSA media officer bantering with him knew for sure also. Do you really suppose that man wanted to put his job at jeopardy? Which of the two hypothesis is most unlikely?

Quite right. The problem is his fans will condone everything he does and then justify it because of his on table abilities. I know a few snooker fans who didn't watch the final against Carter because they just don't like Ronnie's attitude in general. I quite agree. A lot of people like him because of his play but just as many dislike him because of who he is. A great talent maybe, a decent person certainly not.

How do you know she is a woman?!! Anyway, I am sure you wouldn't have said to Ronnie at his conference "Don't talk to that woman like that"? Of course, mine is far more offensive!
