    • Ronnie's behaviour was a poor show from someone who should know far better in that situation and i cant see how anybody can stick up for it or him as there is no excuse. O'sullivan would have known that his comments could be heard but perhaps not understood and unfortunatly he was caught red handed and now has to deal with what ever punishment he is given.

HOWEVER, im fed up of the constant battering that he recieves from people who say that they are snooker fans. Frame we all are awre of your total disslike for someone who you have some sort of fetish/obsession for. the behaviour as always reflects and mirrors the same if not worse than that of what you accuse O'sullivan of doing. you constantly put down members of various forums who know far more about the sport than you do and who can openly debate far better than yourself, you use lame tricks and put downs to others and resort to calling people names when you cant think of any intelegent things to say. The worse thing about this is that most of the time you are putting down people who have or have had a connection with the sport who acctually know the players you run down and who know them far better than you ever will and while doing this are so stuck in your poisened ways that you cant listen and take on any information that is given to you which in turn you could use to learn from.

Ronnie o'sullivan is far from perfect like any other human being but if he was half the man that frame discribes him as he would have been in prison years ago.

He would have been imprisoned in China if the authorities had had their way!

Anyway Little just because you live in these guys pockets doesn't mean you know anymore than anyone else about the game. Even if you did, so what? It is hardly an achievement knowing every piece of minutia about guys hitting balls with sticks. I wouldn't be that proud of that! Still, simple things please simple minds!

and doesnt that gem of a comment just prove my point ?

If you really did know anything on china frame you would know that far worse behaviour has gone on over there which makes O'sullivans comments seem like fairy dust. no he wouldnt have ended up in prison

I think many people have decided it is because he isnt happy in life and needs to find some sort of way to entertain himself resorting in the lowest form of entertainment possible. It is fairly sad really to see a fellow human suffer so

                  • I think he could have gone to prison for that, no question about it. I saw a programe about the human spiderman and he climbed a building in China and spent a while in prison for it, and was banned from the country for 5 years. If Ronnie was an average tourist he could have found himself locked up for those comments.

If Ronnie was an average tourist he wouldn't have been at a press conference, so what exactly is your point?

And why do you apparently take such delight in the idea of someone being 'dealt with' by a country with a horrendous record on human rights?

Oh, and your ridiculous claim about the human spiderman case - 5 DAYS, and that was because he'd ask for permission, been refused then went ahead anyway.

They did ban him for five years...then they invited him back in 2007

If China is so offended by this stunt of Ronnie's, one assumes he won't be allowed back in again?

I am saying if he had spoken to someone like that in the street in China he would have been sent to prison. I am not defending China's record on human rights just stating the fact that an English tourist speaking like that wouldn't have got away with it.

                        • not that the fuss has calmed down and the worlds are finished, what do folk think is a fitting punishment?

                          • Massive fine, ban from a tournament(the china open, for example?)

But then again, is it wise for snooker to ban the world champion and the game's most popular player? Commercially, it's unsound - morally it's what he deserves, I think.

Given his apparent recent disinterest in the China Open, banning him there may not really be that much of a punishment...

I'm not defending Ronnie's behaviour. Just as Little points out it was stupid, vulgar and totally uncalled for. But you don't answer my point: is it likely that the WSA media officer would have behaved as he has if the knew they would be recorded? The answer is no, or the guy is mad ...
The fact that they did not know they would be recorded does not make it less stupid, immature or vulgar. It does however make something different than a deliberate offence ...
As for the harm done ... let's be serious.
