That has to rank as one of the WORST performances ever from Ding. He had so many chances but couldn't put most of them anyway. Congrats to Guodong, but was a little fortunate to have an opponent who let him off the hook too many times!

Personally, I think Snooker is all about consistency. If Junhui played badly, Guodong wasn't fortunate: he was just more consistent than Junhui. Therefore, Guodong was better on the day because he won the match. Of course, getting the run of the ball is sometimes a factor but in this match, both players weren't getting much luck which evens it all out.

I meant Guodong was a (little fortunate) in regards to Ding missing so many chances which more often than not Ding would've taken. If he had of taken those chances it more than likely would've been Ding who would've fallen over the line instead of Guodong.

Ding was unbelievably poor today, his body language is just terrible out there at the moment. That match with Wenbo at the Crucible becomes almost a must-win now.
