John's getting the flukes but not taking advantage: Ronnie's at the table.

Well, a fluke doesn't help much if you only get 1 red and isn't on any colour..

Decider it is then, ROS has to be favourite for me but you never know given how this match has unfolded.

A fluke, even though it doesn't make any difference points wise, can significantly put your opponent in a psychological battle with him or herself.

You cant beat a deciding frame! Favour Ronnie, but only just.

Wow, didn't realise that he hasn't beaten Higgins in a ranking event since 2003.

And looks like he won't do it this time either - after missing this black. Higgins on a break.

                  Quite an amazing fact that.

Had a feeling that Ronnie would miss that black. Could well be his last shot.

                        • And so it is. Well done John, as I said at the time I thought that he had let it slip with that slip at 3-1 but I'm happy to be wrong. Yet again showing how resilient he is, though he was helped out a bit by Ronnie's misses.

                          • Plenty of misses but none the less a good match.

                            • Yeah, they were pretty poor today, especially after the interval. If they had played like that against Ebdon today, he would probably have whitewashed them. Even Hendry made fewer mistakes today I think.

Still, it wasn't bad entertainment. I'm happy that Higgins won, at least I avoided a historic 0 points in a QF prediction.

I still haven't seen Ryan Day play this week, but he must be playing better than that.

                              • Congrats to John Higgins It was not an exceptional performance from both of them with a lot of nerves and a couple of simple mistakes but still quite a high standard. It was great to watch two players who have a lot of respect for each other
