A few years ago Pettman said that no-one will remember him after he retires. I don't think that's true anyway, but if he can win one more match (or maybe even 2) than quite a few people will remember him I think.

yes, I do think he got away with it.

          1. With a lack of decent opposition in early 90's, his confidence was great
          2. With this he potted 90% of the reds
          3. The 10% he did not get were never punished, they are now.
          4. Safety battles of which Ebdon, O'sullivan and selby provide were never exploited
          5. Hendry has never had a B game and is like a naked man out there

If he changed his game from those 1 pot wonders (which he isn't going to get or get away with) and learned some good tactical match play snooker, he would fare miles better

          5-1 ebdon, get in there!

I wish I could watch the match but I'm forcing myself to study in the library otherwise I won't do anything. It's been the story of my week so far, only catching glimpses of matches. I hope Ronnie wins a close match, though. I wouldn't want to see a one-sided affair.

Unlucky, Larrah, but it just means that Neil will do better in the World Championship. It's quite uncommon that you win back to back rankings (I think he's done it once before though) but that works out seeing as the World Championship is more important. It's the same story with Marco. It was a disappointing first round loss and that's because Marco played poorly underestimating lower ranked players. Hopefully, he'll get to at least the semis in the World.

Not much has been spoken of Ryan Day this week and I think that'll suit him just fine not being considered a favourite and currently leads Murphy 2-0.

& def not looking good for Shaun Murphy either as Day is one frame away from the semi-finals.

Indeed.. quite surprising for Murphy almost being whitewashed there. But im sure hell have a spinach can during the interval..and come back with new forces ... Hope he shares the can with ROS ..

Is it just me, or does Mike Hallett say that "this is the best I've seen John Higgins cue for a couple of months" in every match Higgins plays in? Come on, he was a mile away in a couple of long pots. Good clearance in the 3rd frame though. It's going to be tough for O'Sullivan to win four of the next five frames now.
