    Come on, Stevens!

Yeah - Ebdon's divorce may well have been the reason for his recent dip in form but he'll be back and we can see the real Ebdon we know - the one that won the UK Championship. I fancy him next year to take the crown to a ranking event - maybe even World =S? I don't know - I hope he maintains a Top 16 place next season though: he badly needs it otherwise he'll be another Dott. Ebdon, considering his achievements, is too good a player to drop out!

Yes! Matthew Stevens is through with a 5-4 defeat of Rod Lawler! That was a close one!

Hmm, with GSC not working it's not easy to get the correct results. I couldn't even find the results on the WSA site when I last looked, but they are up now. It's a shame Lawler won, I would have prefered Stevens.

It really looks like Rod Lawler won.

Journeyman Rod Lawler booked his place in Beijing with a solid performance in defeating Welshman Matthew Stevens 5 – 4, while Stephen Lee ended the dream for Jin Long, beating the Chinaman 5 – 3.
Robbo's potting is so good he doesn't need to bother with positional play like the rest of the players. He laughs in the face of those who spend hours on the practice table perfecting their cue ball control! ~ Forman

Shame for Matthew, it seemed he was coming back to form

Barry Hawkins and Jamie Cope not doing well either:

                    Barry's down 3-0, Jamie 3-1...

                    John Parrot's up 3-1 though!

On a side note. Looking at the link in my previous post, I have always thought that the term "journeyman" is slightly libellous (for the lack of proper terminology). I have got the feeling after reading some posts from the snooker community.
I find it therefore quite surprising that the WSA uses the term in their official article about a match. Was I wrong in assuming the meaning behind the word?

I need to have these English snooker terms sorted out for me.
