It's pretty commonly used in all sports really, not just snooker. I think it's pretty fair to use with people like Lawler too as it's pretty spot on

Yes, I think this is Lawlers 18th consecutive season on the Main Tour, and he managed to get to a quarter-final once (!). He is also one of, if not the slowest player on the Tour.

I know what the term means, i.e. who to describe with it. I just thought it is something more, lets say slangish, and it is not the prefered term to use while commentating or writing articles. The truth is, it´s more an exception than rule for me to listen to English sport commentary, so I haven´t known it was widely used term.
Nothing to worry about of course, I was just wondering about the usage.
        Thanks for the reply.
Robbo's potting is so good he doesn't need to bother with positional play like the rest of the players. He laughs in the face of those who spend hours on the practice table perfecting their cue ball control! ~ Forman

I agree, i was surprised too, to see world snooker describe one of their own players that way. Its not the most flattering of terms is it. I guess it cant be libelous though if it is true.

Meanwhile congrtats to JP on a great win over Stuart Bingham

I am glad I wasn´t the only one who thought so.

i think with the exception of lawler and pettman im pretty chuffed with the qualifiers. the draw was perhaps unkind trump v doherty was a shame someone had to go. ditto hawkins v gray (really chuffed for gray though).
un fortunately it was always gonna be a choice of harold/michie and burnett/bond.

it could have been much worse.

Michie, mike dunn mcbain and patrick wallace* could have been there too.

*not meaning to be insulting but not a big fan of these.

Rod Lawler should be a decent draw for Dott on his quest to recapture China.

I would've preferred Michie to win, purely because I don't really want to see Dave Harold in the top 16 next season.
