I dont want to jump the gun but if Tony manages to do as well as this in the world qualifiers he might be getting close to pushing for a top 32 slot. That would have been unimaginable only a few months ago.
On current form, he is a Top 20 player at least. Give the Boss his own show. Maybe he can show us how to make tomato sauce. Or show him watching a wildlife programme like Lefty in Donnie Brasco. "Lefty loves animals"
Personally I always think the minimum that a new tour player needs to move into the top 16 is three seasons, like Mark Allen.
That said though, who knows what the ranking/tour structure is going to be like in the future, maybe Hearn will make it easier for people to move up.
I think any player who gets in the top 64 after one season has had a good season (like Drago will be doing, and Allen before him) Selt effectively has done it as well as he only had 1000 points more, but taking those off, he would still be top 64. Drago is about 37th in one year list now, so outside chance of top 32 in one year list and remote chance of top 48 in overall list.
If he does beat Lee, he has a chance against Perry who hasn't had a good year at all - shame he didn't beat Day in decider in Welsh Open!
Not for the first time I agree, top 64 would be a great achievement. It doesn't sound like much but it is really considering the start points available.

He has qualified for one venue, he is hardly top 20 stuff is he. I think he has done pretty much the same as Jimmy did last year because the new tour players may have been overawed by playing someone of his stature in the game. Then by winning your first match you get on a roll.

So, the only Chinese player left standing is Liang Wenbo, who is apparently going to play his match at Prestatyn. With the risk of him going out, I expected the match to be played at the venue, but fair enough.
And the other Asian player to get through to the final qualifying round is James Wattana, which is a pleasant surprise. There was a thread on here in the summer, asking whether it's good for the game that the likes of Drago and Wattana are allowed to return to the MT, even though they got in on merit. And now Drago is having an excellent season, and Wattana is more than respectable. On the other hand, World Snooker's wildcard choices are all pathetic, and nowhere near reaching venues. Lovely stuff.
Well Done Tony one more rd for another TV apperance I hope he beats Stephen Lee Tomorrow, on this form he could get back into the top 48 with a couple more wins and if he wins tomorrow he plays Joe Perry in China who as not had a good season, so could be last 16 place for Tony (Hopefully) and if he gets to the crucible it will be brillant for snooker and Tony to. then gets Ronnie in 1st rd what a fast exciting game that will be. by the way how quick did he make his 70 break to beat Anthony 5-4
Well done Tony it's good to have you back in the top 64 and good luck for the rest of the season and keep climbing up those rankings.
Ronnie O' Sullivan seven times the record breaking Snooker Master
and if he gets to the crucible it will be brillant for snooker and Tony to. then gets Ronnie in 1st rd what a fast exciting game that will be.
Hopefully he Drago would fare better against O'Sullivan than when they faced each other at the 1996 WC, which O' Sullivan won easy. Though somehow i cant see it happening,
