So a non main tour wildcard makes the last 16, with a realistic chance of making the QFs. Has this ever happened before ? I wonder if Tian will get a main tour wildcard for next season now, if he doesnt qualify by any other means.
He should have got it last year, and he has another strong case this year. I don't see any stronger candidates myself.
So in the spirit of "mediocrity should not be rewarded", hopefully he won't be overlooked in favour of the likes of Preece again.
On another note, I'm quite inconvenienced by Murphy's loss. Bought him for my snookermanager team in place of Maguire/Selby, which could be costly, considering that the other seeds are safely through. Except for O'Sullivan of course, whom I'm sure a lot of people have in their team, so that could prove quite handy.

That's why it is much wiser to choose higgins than o'sullivan in snookermanager. He's much more consistent mentally.

Despite good scoring Marco wasnt so impressive in his first match so I think Nigel looks better now

I don't know about that... O'Sullivan was cheaper at the start of the season, and his value has increased the most out of any player.
But in any case, my plan was to buy five strong players, rather than O'Sullivan/Higgins and four decent ones. It kind of backfired, because both O'Sullivan and Higgins got to so many semi-finals and beyond. If only I bought Ding at the beginning, I would probably be in the top10 now.
Shame Tony was far from his best today, but Perry played a lot better than the last couple of times I saw him to be fair.
I saw the last 3 frames of both O'Sullivan-Pengfei and Murphy-Bond and both qualifiers fully deserved to win, so well done for them!
Anyone knows how did Perry & Carter looked like in their matches?
Their today's wins scorelines seem comfortable for both of them... Could Perry be back?
Since Ronnie is out now, and if not for Pengfei, it seems like Carter could go up untill the semi at least, another good tournament in row for him?
