  • Janie's doing a great job, that's also has to be said. But the BBC and Worldsnooker I'd have expected a little more of.

    • The old live scoring wasn't that bad but the new one is terrible.

I always look on GSC as this seems to be the most up to date.

      Great job Janie

      • Janie is a stalwart of the game as much as Clive Everton and people like him, I think.

I seem to recall seeing bits by Janie in Snooker Scene editions in the 70s and early 80s.

It's amazing that the sport can be reported in so much detail by so few people!

LOL, I suspect he may still be going strong in 30 years time.

Won't half be fat in thirty years time. His almanac that is.

I endorse the remarks about Janie Watkins though. She does a huge amount for snooker.

                • Good question, after wins, is it frame difference or head to head??? Anybody?

As for Janie, we should send her a message and tell her how grateful we are, as it seems that she is the only person capable of keeping us up to date.

Oh yeah, and Jimmy....... well done, but his chances are but theoretical... as much as it hurts to admit.

                    • The rules are head 2 head first.

So Judd Trump is in the final stages, only John Parrott can over take him. (I think)

                      • Would it be correct to assume that this may well be the first time that a player wins a tournament despite having lost a match.

(I do imagine there are maybe 3,003,000 different firsts this event will throw up.)

BBC still give him a chance, it seems:

Ranking events, certainly. Although the World Championship in 1970 was round-robin before the semis.

However, there have been players who have NOT won a tournament despite winning the last frame they played [early World Championships when dead frames were played out after a winning lead achieved], and who have NOT won a tournament despite winning the last match they played [1978 and 1979 Worlds, Eddie Charlton won the third-place play-off both years]!
