  • Grand Prix match discussions

Maybe we could discuss all matches being played during the tournament on one particular thread. Like this one. Starting saturday 21st of october.

So, since play has started, I will now offically inaugurate this thread with a question.

Is there live coverage on the BBC website? Because I have a working proxy but all I can see is old highlights from the WC and such. So I was wondering whether they have any coverage at all on the website or if it is only on the Interactive or whatever it is called.

And then I have a second question, what is the best cure for a hangover? Cause I kinda got one last night...

And first frame of the tournament goes to Chinese potter Liang Wenbo. 1-0 against Fergal O'Brien.

If you're already able to walk, Hege, I'd recommend some fresh air. Concerning nourishment your body needs water, salt (minerals) and sugar. Consume the first of these ingredients in any dosage form you feel comfortable with and add the others. Don't take Aspirin on an emty stomach.

Do you have such thing like a bloody Eurosport 2 in Sweden, too? Broadcasting now but only available in specific regions and of course only after charging some extra money.
There's even a live stream set up on the web for this tournament but of course not for the matches shown on ES2.

Yes we have but my parents think it's unneccary to have two Eurosport channels! It ould only cost like £2 extra per month.

Thanks for your tip. It's just that whenever I raise from my chair my head get all dizzy and I tend to lose my balance. I'll get some water although the idea of drinking water makes my stomach upset at the moment.
And I'm supposed to play floorball in about two hours...

Oh, then you're in serious trouble, Hege.
I'd recommend the following: don't strain your remained senses in front of the computer screen.
If there's something like a veggie or chicken bouillon at your parent's available, try to consume it very slowly with a slice of dry bread. Then take a rest for about half an hour. Afterwards try to get up and if possible, add some more bread and probably the rest of the soup and then a) Aspirin if your head's really aching, if not b) a cup of a 3 minute black tea with sugar and milk (regarding your stomach, make sure not to let infuse the tea for too many minutes). Rest for another half hour, this should free you from feeling dizzy.
Then switch on the computer and watch the current results of the Grand Prix on the web which could give you some incitement on your own football match to play. This should help. If not, it's probably better to stay at home. But you're a young lad, you'll make it.

I'd have to subscribe for at least some exorbitant 24 months to a digital cable company if I'd wanted to receive ES2, that's why I'm not doing it, the only sports I'm interested in are Billiards and Chess anyway.

I've got unconfirmed intelligence that german Europort's website will provide a a live stream for the matches that are aired on regular Eurosport. Haven't found a link yet though but the local commentator is reported to have announced it.

Ryan Day looked very impressive. Murphy didn't play that bad, but Day was too strong. John Higgin is back in form, but Watana was nowhere.

2 out of 2, off to a good start. there might be a lot of 3-0! scorelines.

Here's a link to the BBC Sports player, Paul.
                            http://news.bbc.co.uk/sol/ukfs_sport...wm_4614366.stm

It doesn't work anyway. They obviously have changed a lot to avoid usage from abroad, a proxy won't help.
