Interesting indeed. Ding is virtually out of it, I think (unless he beats Murphy 4-0). It is between the current top 4.

not really, even if ding beats murphy 4-3, 4-2, he still stands a chance as bingham could beat fu 4-3, and pettman beat woollaston 4-3.... there are many combinations for every player in this group to qualify. even if ding beats murphy 4-0, it still depends on others results.

The matches have started for the day, with Hendry v Maguire being shown on Eurosport now (I'm watching the Swedish stream as I type). I can't get the live score to work, does anyone else have any luck there?

The Stephens are on frame 1, with the score being 40-38 to Hendry. Three colours left, it's looking messy. So far it seems that Maguire hasn't quite settled yet, but he had a nice little break of 37. Hendry is looking just a tick sharper, imho, but has had a couple of missed long pot attempts and blacks off the spot.

                EditI: 'Mon Stephen!

                EditII: Hendry v Maguire 0-1

Maguire took the frame on the black. There were lots of lovely safeties to be seen in a frame lasting nearly an hour.

Maguire seems to have a nice chance to make a big(ish) break now.

Hendry makes it 1-1, Maguire then wins the next and looks good on the fourth.

                          And Maguire won 4-2

I'd say both have a good margin of improvement to catch up on for their next matches, but I'm hoping they both go through! Mags did display some temper, seemed to more or less constantly break down at 50-60, with Hendry lurking to pick up the frames when Mags left off. Though Hendry didn't manage to clear the table on those occasions.

And yay! for Ali, though I wasn't happy at the time. Silly Eurosport for cutting in with footage from the other table during a break.

I only saw a bit of the match (I am supposed to work after all ), but Hendry missed some long pots by a mile. He definetly has to improve to get through...

Edit: Uh, Steve is NOT going to be whitewashed again . Some improvement, 1:1 against O'Sullivan.
