Ironic that he led Carter 3-2, so if it had been best-of-5 he would have won it!

          • Is there a working Eurosport stream available anywhere?

Or do I have to lay myself down on the couch and watch it on TV all day...?

Well, that doesn't sound ALL bad to me, but yes, there is a working stream. Try eurosport.se.

(The direct link to the stream happens to be mms://livestream.eurosport.com/ebu-no-uk-irl/53886.wsx)

                Higgins v Norman 1-0 (59*-0)

Edit: Can anyone get LiveScore to work properly? Perhaps the WSA needs a better server/more capacity on their server?

                • Ah, thanks.

Solid break buildning from Higgins so far.

                  • Higgins wins 4-0 without really convincing play. Norman had plenty of chances to reduce the score but failed to make any impact at all.

Dunno. That miss on the brown made an impact on me I agree, though, John didn't play that great, but he didn't have to, did he?

Now for Williams v McCulloch - currently at 2-2 (8-34).

King v Day 0-3; Ryan on a break of 55. EOB at 84 and Day won 4-0. I think. Live Score died.
                      Judge v Allen 2-1; 43-24*
                      Doherty v Walden 4-0!

                      • Ken Doherty gets whitewashed by Ricky Walden.
What's the matter with him? Yesterday his positional play was awful in patches.

The final decline has started. He's going the same way as Williams, with the exception that Williams never had a second revival.

                          • Without having seen the course of the match, I don't think it takes a lot to lose 4-0 to Ricky Walden. I daresay that Walden was the toughest qualifier of them all (closely followed by Tom Ford). Walden is more than capable of beating any player and shouldn't be outside the top 32 of the rankings. Having said that, Ken definitely lost his brilliance but I wouldn't write him off just yet.

As for Williams, I can't possibly find an explanation how a player of his class can drop to where he is at the moment. Is it lack of confidence? Is it lack of practice? I don't know. Still awaiting resurgence there.

Walden sure is a tough opponent, nevertheless I expected a closer match. This whitewash in combination with how he played yesterday is worrying. Hope it gets better in the next tournaments, I doubt he'll qualify for this one.

totally agree about Ricky, i remember he's beaten John Higgins in two consecutive tournaments about 3-4 years back and John was good enough to make a 147 in one of those matches ... so he is indeed an excellent player.

as for Williams, i believe it's a mixture of lack of confidence and match practice (losing the first match everytime certainly doesn't help) but very much like u, i'm waiting for & believe in a resurgence

well... what can i say? 'mon the ****in' Kaaaaaaaaaaaaat
