Robertson suffers from the same condition Maguire and Ding suffered from? Being really successful and then falling into a deep deep dip.
so far that didn't go by plan for a lot of the favs, did it? Just to add to the above also Selby, Stevens and Dale, who I would have liked to see going through.

Robertson is really struggling (Just to mention that game, where his long potting was down to 0%! at one time well into the game. Not that today's game against Lee was pretty to watch). Looks like it is hard to retain the confidence needed, when under the 'favourite' pressure.
Argh, which also means I am out of the lucky dip thingy

Haha, on the bright side, I just checked, I am in that Rugby final

    • Matthew Stevens, in my opinion, is a nice guy, he's so nice, he lacks the killer instinct. And that's why he will never be a truly great player in my opinion.

The others, it's weird. Shelby seems really promising, but again, maybe the pressure of being one of the 'top guys' gets to him too like it has many players.

The media really exaggarates everything. A player wins a tournament and he's bombarded as the next Stephen Hendry. No one can live up to such pressure.

          • oh, forgot to add another bright side:

at least Ronnie looks up to it. Wouldn't surprise me, if this was finally his tournament... (now hope he doesn't prove me wrong right in the next round)

            • I agree Elva this time , Davis and Ding - big disappointment , and so far Dott surprised me also ..not in a good way fcourse. Really bad start for Graeme , i know he said it last year he's not happy with the format and all - is this a reason for the results he got so far ?! ( 4-0 ag. Hamilton - i didnt see that comin , really).
Was disappointed also with the Lee-Robertson match today , to long to scrappy , to many mistakes , maybe there wasnt motivation there for Lee , as he was already on his way home b4 this match , but no excuse for Neil there ..If i have to pick the better player i'd go for Lee , some great shots by him..but on the whole i would have definitely preferred to watch any other match.
I am so VERY HAPPY for Williams , first victory in a long time . Keep goin Mark!
Pity about Peter's break , 3 max in a tournament would have been fantastic... Guess Tom is happy he doesnt have to share his prize .

                  • He missed the final pink - so he got to 134. (It wasn't a difficult pink! I thought he had it in the bag after he recovered from a difficultish green and brown but there you go!)

As for Ronnie, I think he was/is eager to play in a ranking tournament again. He seems to have the hunger again, which is quite understandable. His last ranking tournament was half a year ago (the Worlds). For a person who has such a strong relationship to snooker, I bet he couldn't wait to play in Aberdeen. And luckily for us, this reflects in his game and results.

                      • Hendry just beat hawkins 4-3 so this group is wide open now, i think hendry just has to win his last match and i think he will be very unlucky not to make it too last 16!

Stephen putting us through the wringer again in that last frame!
Fingers crossed he gets through to the last 16.

Mags is the leader of this group so far , havin 3 won of 3 played .. Hendo has good chances to go through ,but he has at least 1 difficult match ahead , ag. Cope.
The leaders of group F are a surprise to me , fcourse it can change till the round is over , but still , Walden 's results are impressive so far.

He did damn well there to win that frame, the colours were awkward positions and he was well behind in the frame..Willie thorne said the chances of him winning the frame was a 1 in 10 chance, but he proved him wrong and It shows you what grit and determination and good temperament the hendo has.
