I think you are a little bit nuts if you think Hendry is finished as a force....anyone can see he can still hack it....think the ranking system sucks anyway.... a better thread would be why the hell is Mark Williams not top 16?

I remember Mark being provisionally 40th ... it's unbelievable for a player of his quality.

Well it just comes down to his (under)performances. Hopefully he will be back next year... he's clearly showing some return to form and motivation.

Watching some of the way other top 16 players played in Glasgow im not sure why Hendrys being singled out?
Yes Hendry was poor but in his match v Higgins, Higgins was no better the 1st few frames and we be talking about another tournament winner if Higgins had bin playing some1 else.
Hendry has done it all and has nothing to prove and plays the game the right way. Do you think 4a minute he would resort 2 Davis tactics 2 try and compete in top 16.

Hasn't won bugger all in ages, losing by large margins to almost every player in R1 or R2, Has among the lowest amount of ranking points compared with the elite this season.

It certainly isn't looking good is it? Mark williams will be in the top 16 by the time Hendry drops out. I can't see Hendry in the top 16 in 2 seasons time.

                        • Glad you like it. Everybody needs a chuckle sometime.. Looking a Hendry play last week he looks so uneasy with that hockey stick he calls a cue.

That is the official world rankings (he is down to 10th provisionally). I am talking about this season, which he has among the lowest points of the elite. In fact he is a few thousand from dropping out of the prov top 16 altogether, So if he doesn't start winning, he will be out of the top 16 very shortly

                            http://www.worldsnooker.com/provisional.htm

3775 points this season, Only ebdon has the same points this season among the prov top 16. And only Murphy has worse (but is shielded with a good total)

It's about playing the game the right way based on your current abilities. Clearly he's not doing so.

I'm afraid he's lost the ability to pot everything in sight from all areas of the table whatever the distance and angle to the pocket what it was in his heyday. To still try it now thinking he's still capable of possibly being the man he was when clearly he's not, can only be classed as nothing other than reckless.

If only he had realised 8 years ago when his long potting was starting to go haywire, and played more safety orientated to compensate. But sadly it's too late now and if he just constantly attack all the time with no success he will just keep falling further and further down the rankings.

once again, totally correct. Hendry is being punished because unlike Davis he has no plan B to fall back on
