There was one more who predicted Davis to win but with 5-3. Mark Davis has played very well recently and Marco Fu has not played so well. Remember that Davis beat Steve Davis with 5-0 and he did high breaks in that match. That's why I picked him He has a solid game and when he can pull himself togehter, he is very good.

That was a great yellow, dead centre pocket. I'm still trying to figure out if he hit that with a trace of running side or just stun?

I'm not totally shocked by the result as Mark has been playing very well for a while now and Marco hasn't impressed me recently, but I think it is always a surprise when the world number 8 and 2007 champion loses to the 47th ranked player.

Yes Davis has played well recently there is no denying that, but i just find it more suprising in the fact that Davis does not usually fare to well when playing on tv, and more often than not normally would normally succumb to the standard of someone like Marco Fu..

Absolutely, the TV factor was what made me think that Fu would win really, rather than form.

I hope Mark Davis has gained a lot of confidence from his win ready for his next match, to me confidence is the only thing that is keeping him back, the talent is surely there. It's the same with many players out there though, Mark is used to the confines of pontanamobay, completley different to venues.
I love the game of snooker :) (even though my mates think that its just a load of balls :D )

It was good to know as Rob Walker was calling out the players into the arena that he wont be let loose into the commentary box.

Early days but Selby looks to be in pretty good nick..

God it's so strange to see Ken without the tartan waistcoat, must be the first time in 10-11 years.

                            Come on Ken.

Good start from Selby, but i just hope that Ken can do himself justice as he done so well to qualify for this event.
