I do believe you are in the minority though of fans that enjoy tactical drawn out affairs. Yes there is an appeal for some but the large majority go for fluent break building where the frames are over quickly and people can see the real talent of potting and cue ball control.

When you are sitting in arena and have to be quiet and not allowed to get up or move about the last thing you want to see is players struggling or getting involved in safety bouts that often are to the detriment of their break building.

Well, I know of snooker fans (less so than me) who today find the game boring as it is all about one chance snooker - of course there is the all round talent in the game, but the table cater for that type of snooker, so I agree with Monique and Darrus (and others) that having tactical bouts of snooker can be much more entertaining (as long as it is intermingled with some fluency when the chances allow). In fact it could be argued that the tactical side of the game requires more skill than clearing an open table
