Next chance UK open. According to the draw. Qualifiers Robin hull (easy), then Nigel Bond (almost retiring). Last 32 Neil Robertson (too much partying after his win). I reckon his chances are great to reach the last 16 where he will meet Dott (out of form). Quarters should be easy, either Steve Davis or Murphy (both in bad shape). Semis Ronnie, where Jimmy has to play tactical (a lot of safety as Ronnie cant stand it and will mess up the whole thing again). A final is definite on for Jimmy this time!

If Hull doesn't get him then Bond will.

I bet he is playing really well in practice though.

It is sad to see Jimmy struggle so much. He's probably inspired a lot of these players to take up the game, and now they are all beating him! Problem for him is that most players can pot as well as Jimmy, and probably more consistently as well, and he doesn't have a great tactical/safety game to help him out. I don't think we'll ever see him at the TV stages of a ranking tournament - unless he starts commentating!!

Jimmy can play as well as ever. Problem is, he's got out of the habit of winning. At 3-1 up, had it been best of 17, I have no doubt he'd have got to five before Higginson, but with five the target he froze. Its a culmination of old age and a long long career of near failures and heavy expectation weighing too heavily upon him.

We shouldn't forget the fact of having to play qualifiers in front of one man and a dog. How does a living legend raise his game to that? Takes some getting used to.

I wishes that Jimmy will be able to get back to last 32 too.

does Jimmy have anyone to help him out? like a coach or something..

LOL Paul ! But it's well known, Jimmy open doors very well in practice !

More seriously, Jimmy lost too much confidence to perform against any player.
And the pressure is so high for him at every qualifying rounds !

Andrew Higginson was struggling at the beginning of the match, then he changed his state of mind, got rid of the pressure, and won 4 frames in a row.
Jimmy never really coped with pressure (he lost all of his 6 world finals, even if he was largely in front or in good position. It speaks for itself !).

@Ibs : Kevin kelly his Jimmy's new manager, he told us they were working on a new practice routine that "should pay dividends soon". It's almost a bankruptcy ! What is this new practice routine ? Exhibitions, poker, boozing ?

Jimmy, don't rely only on your reputation ! PRACTICE ! PRACTICE ! PRACTICE ! like every dedicated players in the game, like a maniac !

                              Cope lost aswell
You play a long slow deadweight red to a corner pocket. As it approaches the pocket, a kamikaze woodlouse crawls out from under the cushion and makes its way across the table, conflicting with the path of the red precisely at the point the red gets there. The red, needless to say, veers off course, and the future of the woodlouse is uncertain. - The Statman
