I wouldn't say dodgy so much as disputed. It was impossible to tell from the TV cameras whether the call was good or not.
The white was up near the green pocket, red down to the left of the black spot with the blue on it's spot the problem ball, an extremely tight call obviously as Jan had another couple of reds on the table to help him make the decision. His first instinct was no free ball, Ebdon kept questioning him but eventually accepted it. Ebdon was then faced with a difficult safety and immediately stuck the red up and lost. He hasn't quite been the same since.
Hello,
If Ebdon wasn't happy with the safety shot on he could have put Ryan Day back in. Latest score is 4-3 Day - who should have 5-2 up having thrown away the last frame.

It wasn't impossibly difficult, one of those where you fear putting your opponent back in may stick you in even more trouble. I can't remember the exact position of the balls now but I remember being unsurprised that Ebdon had chosen to play it himself, and unsurprised that he'd stuck it up, though the latter may have been helped by a bit of frustration from the free ball decision.
Edit: Just seen a repeat of this in the interval, my recollection of it was a bit dodgy, Ebdon attempted a difficult long pot, not a safety. He didn't want to put Ryan in for fear that Ryan would pot the ball he needed to seal the frame.
Anyway, all over now. Day I think coped well with what appeared to be an Ebdon comeback. I think you'd have to favour Murphy in the final simply because he's been breakbuilding so well this week but it's not a given. Should be an interesting match.
Day has just got the fifth frame after a fascinating safety exchange on the pink.
I only saw it from the fourth frame and Day definitely didn't apepar to be settled (I say this having not gained any impression as to how the first three went).
So basically it depends how much you care for rugby!
Another throwaway from day. Him and Ali Carter are the two most over rated players at the top end of the circuit. They just can't string enough good performances together.
