I thought about going to the Masters but then with the Welsh Open coming up I thought I'd rather go there instead. But now it looks like I probably won'tgo there either this year as I've booked my car in for service and MOT on the day of the semis.

Apologies about the restaurant. I'm sure Jimmy White would have obliged if you offered to take him along instead. He needed cheering up after his dismal performance against Stevens and he looks like he's been eating his fair share of high calorie Indian restaurant meals lately.

He would have been firing, but not with his cue if Jimmy would have shared my very spicey and hot Lamb Massala. I am sure he would have liked the big bottle of Lion Stout (8%), going with the meal or rather a crate of it.

I don't reckon we'll see Jimmy firing with his cue again. He looked awful against Stevens.

I'm back to playing somewhere near to my best form now though. But I'm sure Jimmy would still give me a good hammering!

I don't think Stevens has lost interest,I think it's rather a lack of confidence. And of course he has had a lot to deal with lately...

I agree with Miss S about this.
I think some personal affair and Paul's departure has been affecting him in the past couple of months/years. He did seem very much wanting to win in the recent several tournies, yet apparently the only way to find back his form and confidence is just a real total commitment to the game. I do not know if he still plays Poker these days, but he certainly has to keep fit and consistant practising. Results would only come after hours and hours of non-stop hard work.

There were 60 points left on the table and ronnie only needed one snooker and he gave away the frame! And thats just nothing compared to how he played when he didnt give away the frames without playing!

In that case, Ding gave Ronnie the masters by not even aiming his shot. Yawn.

Holt played pretty well, don't think he'll progress much further though. Took him 2-3 visits each time to put frames away. Thought he'd implode after he missed that easy one in the 6th, good to see he isn't doing that.

Let's say Ronnie isn't the only player giving that... and the standard of his play didn't suggest he will suddenly step up another gear and clear the table with the snooker needed. how many good snookers did he made tonight? did he even play a good safety shot?

I really understand the crowd that they saw a player in a bad form, I wonder why it suddenly turned that way after such an awesome Masters tournament, but I try to remember that is just a game, and it might be better in the next tournament...

The top three pre-tournament favourites O’Sullivan, Ding and Higgins are now out. Hendry, Doherty, Ebdon, etc must fancy their chances. My bet is on Doherty.
