  • in general, if it ain't one of the big three then Ronnie is always a possible first round casualty. There's not enough prestige to the other titles, it may be subconscious but it happens.

    • Funny to read all those comments again about ROS. The malta Cup is not his thing i presume. I doubt whether he played more wreckless shots than Mr. Drago. The latter looked like me when I am not on fire (and most of the time I am not).

      • Bizarre, but entertaining. That must've been the dirtiest fluke I've ever seen (O'Sullivan of course), and the foul was also quite entertaining. Ronnie delivered, though unwillingly, the entertainment, Michael Holt did the snookering

Michael Holt seemed to have had an army of ants invading his blood; he was as hyper as a three-year-old on a sugar high

That's not entirely fair. Those three are perfectly capable of winning even if O'Sullivan, Ding and Higgins are still in. Would be nice if Ken could defend his title, or if Stephen could win something again oooor if someone else entirely could win (Holt, Day, Maguire... I must've forgotten someone, but it's still early in the morn).
Das war ein FLUKE! Ein Glückstreffer!

        • Yay well done Holt ^_^
You play a long slow deadweight red to a corner pocket. As it approaches the pocket, a kamikaze woodlouse crawls out from under the cushion and makes its way across the table, conflicting with the path of the red precisely at the point the red gets there. The red, needless to say, veers off course, and the future of the woodlouse is uncertain. - The Statman

                    • Higginson looks quite settled and has taken the first frame and is in with a good chance in frame 2.

could an upset be on the cards in this match also?

                      • And Higginson is currenly ranked as low as no. 77!

Experience will come through eventually, I think.

i think ken will win, and hope he does, but its alos good to see "new" players doing well.

higginson messed up his chance anyway, and looks like 1-1 is more likely

what a strange frame. if ken loses another before the break he will be "under pressure"

                              • Indeed. When was the last time a player ranked 77 got to a quarter-final??

Still very far from over though.
