there wont be too many of 77 and above getting to 1/4 finals in ranking tourneys (too many not meaning none. i dunno)

kens got the t-shirt, so he wont buckle, but need to stop giving Higginson chances

Doherty leads 32-1 in frame 3

              • Well, he is getting famous quite late......or do I miss something? I mean , I hadn't heard anything of him before the Malta Cup (before winning Jimmy in the qualifiers, to be precise)

                      Close enough

Is anyone still keeping an eye on King-Holt? It's still going, now in a deciding frame. Seems to have gone extremely scrappy, the highest break I've seen in the last couple of frames is something like 20.

Good stuff from Holt though, fighting back from 3-0. He's in at the moment, leading 38-37 and on 14, though you get the feeling the break won't last.

Update: Holt broke down on 14

... And that looks to be it, King potted blue and pink to win the frame 48-38. Grinding stuff.

                      • I was just about to kickstart this thread again. Indeed the break didn't last – with that he finished the break. 38-37 to Holt, but King in on 11 and counting.

                        38-48 now.

                        • And Mark King wins the match.

The 11 must have been blue and pink, unless it was an early concessin.

Pretty certain it was the former, I saw the break go to 5 before 11. It'll be interesting to read the post-match interviews when they pop up on worldsnooker.com, the impression I got from live scoring was that the match entered Griffiths vs Thorburn territory, not something you'd expect from these two.

                                You're not the only one:

"I said before the match that I didn’t know who Andrew was until he was pointed out to me at the airpot when we arrived," said world No 2 Doherty. (worldsnooker.com)
Das war ein FLUKE! Ein Glückstreffer!
