Unfortunate that Hendry was ill, think he would have taken him had it not been for that. But Carters potting was very good. Sadly don't think he'll do much against Murphy.
I found it quite rude of Ebdon to leave for the backstage area whilst Ken was still on the table It happens every time I watch Ebdon, I think to myself that I should stop not liking him, because he's good at snooker, and after a couple of frames I just want the game to end already, because they are all more or less marathons.

That was strange indeed.. I thought for a moment that Doherty got a bit upset about it (made a gesture like that), but I'm not sure anymore.. Maybe he was just saying something to the referee.
Probably. But if there's Ebdon without good opponent that will be boring
Ebdon can play lovely and entertaining snooker, the first match that springs to mind is the semi against Higgins in the UK, but he (or, rather, we) needs someone who won't allow him to slow down and drag the game down into the ebdonesque swap wherein Doherty splashed around yesterday, or it will inevitably just turn into a match about who has the staying power, and we all know Ebdon does.
Does anyone know what were Doherty and Ebdon talking about after the match was over? And also what were Ebdon and referree talking? Seemed to me like some arguing..

I feel the need to defend Ebdon a little. Unlike most players, who always plays percentage, Ebdon can come up with a very unorthodox solution, creating the most entertaining shots. I for one think it's very unfair to criticize him to the extent some people do. Doherty was in this particular match just as responsible for the slow play (though I like slow, defensive play just as much as quickfire frames) yet it's always Ebdon who gets the label "slow/boring". A bit unfair IMO.
