  • I had no idea that Eurosport already showed the match, when did they start?

    • Murphy makes a delicious 115 break to rush away 4-1. I don't think Carter will have (or rather, have had) much to say in this match.

            • Well with Eurosport or without, Murphy beat Carter 6 - 3 and is now in the final. I'm curious to see who will join him tonight...

                • I dont think so, its rather warm in malta at the moment.

Day and Murphy, same style of play. If its Ebdon, contrast of styles, which can be fascinating. Before I mentioned it could be the turning point for Murphy. i rank him as an outside fav. for The Crucible.

I think Ebdon will get under Day's skin. Apparently Maguire got peed off with Ebdon in the last 16 and conceded a frame with 9 reds left.

                    • Actually I hope Day will win this tournament to take his career a step further. I have always put him in the same category like Paul Hunter for a few seasons now. No nonsense, good character, stylish play. I hope he will be a top 3 for the next decade.

                      • Ebdon or Day, as long as they beat Murphy, i'm happy.

I've seen Day play many times over the past 5 years and he will do very very well to be a top 3 player.

I also like his style of play but he lacks consistency and admitted he was not as focused as he could have been in an interview earlier this week.

I think with greater focus he can become a top16 regular but then in today's game even that is hard.

If he beats Ebdon, I think it would be a great final tommrow between Day and Murphy but as I said before it will be interesting to see if Day has the temparement to cope with Ebdon. It's Ebdon to win for me tonight.

                          • i tend to agree Ebdons' experience will take him over the finishing line. It all depends if Day gets off to a good start. If he can go into a 3-1 lead, I give him a chance. If Day is trailing from the start, his chances will be very slim.

Day is a great player and I very much enjoy watching him, but (there's always a but, eh?) at the same time he's one month short of his 27th birthday and up to now his best performance is one quarter-final, which isn't impressive by any means.

Hopefully this season will prove to be his breakthough one, but I have my doubts regarding his future as a top 8 player.

I believe Day will be a top 8 player one day.

After all Hegeland you thought Stephen Hendry had an easy run to the final so you've proved you are capable of getting things wrong.
