Lost count the amount of times Willie Thorne has said 'top drawer' tonight. Mark Allen playing awesome Snooker!

Wow that was "top drawer" from Mark Allen tonight 6-1?!
I'm not fearing for Selby quite yet though, although the amount of times he's lost to players called Mark is strangely high.
Ryan Day had such a tough snooker to get out of in the final frame I even felt sorry for him when he missed it by a nano-meter.Winner of Ja's Super Special Grand Prix Lucky Dip 2009

It was great to see Mark Allen play such fantastic snooker. Probably the best I've ever seen him play. Some of his long pots seem downright suicidal, but when he's potting nearly 80% of them it's justified. Nothing Ryan Day could do tonight.
Dare I say this performance reminded me of a certain player in his younger days who celebrates his birthday today.

Yes Willie wasnt happy with jan ver haas calling a miss against ryan day was he? I saw allen play yesterday and he was ok but tonight he raised his game superbly.Always play snooker with a smile on your face...You never know when you'll pot your last ball.

Ryan was snookered behind the green near the green pocket. He hit the top cushion, right side cushion and tried to lay on a red near the bottom black cushion and missed it by a cigarette paper and it was called a miss. A pro may hit it 2/10 so it was a great effort. Ultimately it cost Day the match because he left the next but one attempt short and a red into the middle pocket for Mark Allen to clear up.Always play snooker with a smile on your face...You never know when you'll pot your last ball.

It was such a good attempt by Ryan espeically considering the difficulty of the Snooker you do have to question Jan Verhaas's judgement on this occasion. Still not the first time this kind of thing has happened and i'm sure it wont be the last"Statistics won't tell you much about me. I play for love, not records."
