Interesting game, but more due to it being unpredictable. come on Stephen.

And as I've not been on for today or last night, what a good performance from my man Mark last night. Willie Thorne said it was the best performance he ever seen from a young player including the likes of Hendry and O'Sullivan - Personally, although I've seen Mark allen play since he was about 10 and have seen him play better than that, to say his performance at 22 is better than Ronnie or Stephen is ridiculous! (Stephen being world champion and multiple ranking tournament winner at 21, Ronnie winning UK at 17, ding and John Higgins multiple ranking tournaments in their teens and the incomparable Hurricane)

Good to see the boy from Antrim doing well, and if he can shake off missing the easy balls, Selby will have his work cut out.
Yes Mal lets hope he can sustain that same kind of form when playing Selby.

    • Thorne is the worst thing about this tournament

Full of his own self-importance and actually ignorant about a lot of things, notably the miss rule last night and several facts today

Davis was a great player but this doesn't mean he is a great commentator

I've found the two of them unbearable

      • lol @ Robertson missing the blue and leaving nothing.

        • Not looking good for Stephen - not sure what he'll take from this match - His long potting and positional play was overall good, but tt really is the 'easy' shots - Surely there is something he can do in his psychological approach to keep his focus better. (Phil Taylor was able to gain his form back in darts)

              • That was really poor. I think it was even worse than Allen-Trump. But having said that, Robertson is still in the tournament, and I'm sure he'll up his game against Maguire. That will be their 4th or 5th meeting in less than a year, they're developing quite a rivalry.

                • As are Carter and Ebdon. I want to see Ebdon beat Ali comfortably today.

                  • Wasn't there a time when I congratulated you to getting Ali as a lucky dip?
Robbo's potting is so good he doesn't need to bother with positional play like the rest of the players. He laughs in the face of those who spend hours on the practice table perfecting their cue ball control! ~ Forman

                    • Should be a good match tonight, but i feel Carter will be too strong for Ebdon going by recent performances!

                        • Sigh

At least Stephen kept at it, in his last two big matches he's taken seven frames off Lee and four off Robertson when he could have been totally battered each time. If he actually finds some sort of form then he could still do something.

At least he has a kind opening round draw in Wales, relatively speaking anyway. Confidence must just be shot though.

Yes. There was. I like Ali Carter but I didn't like the comments he made in Bahrain. I still like him though as a match player but it's been a long time since I've seen a sparkle in Ebdon and I would like to see that tonight!
