I agree, when he first started to get the rest etc out i thought he was going to play the snooker too. Although, when you only need one more ball in todays snooker they do tend to go for the throat... (or should i say balls)

That shot was awful - I never fancied him to pot the brown. Similar to a blue a couple of frames before and those are the shots that you need to think about - with the brown he was always going to leave the red - he could have played a snooker or knocked a colour safe or potted the yellow and left the white on top cushion.

This evening he has had so many chance - It could have been a 10-6 win to Selby if he'd taken them. Of course despite Ronnie good play today and in last couple of matches, Joe Perry should have beat him and something like that can spur a player on.

One thing is for sure, it has been an enthralling final.

I don't think the crowd helps either player. They called out when Mark was on a shot a few frames ago, he missed (his own fault) and then Ronnie had a chance and the ref quietened them down, although Ronnie missed then also.

Well played to ROS - He is a deserving winner, but it could have been different if Perry and Selby had taken their opportunities and against who is currently the best player that is what you have to do.

I must admit, that I've fancied Selby in a close match before the final, but Ronnie really wanted to win tonight, and I've never seen him grinding out so many frames from behind before. Well done, very entertaining final!
