I wonder how most of you liked the final. It was one dull match thanx to Selby. I think he drived ROS crazy.

I dont know how you could say the final was (dull) matoski. That final had everything and i dont agree the that Selby drove Ronnie crazy either!

I don't think it was dull. I've expected both players to score more heavily, but it was quite exciting. Don't agree with Selby driving Ronnie crazy either. Ronnie coped very well with the somewhat scrappy game and made quite a few clearences when well behind in a frame. Selby looked a lot more shaken than O'Sullivan after he lost the 17th frame.

It was great to see Ronnie 'grind out' some scrappy frames.

I was talking to a mate at the interval when SElby led 7-5 and I said it should be 9-3 to Selby because he should have won frames 8 and 9 but Ronnie pinched them from under his nose.

Ronnie became frustrated against Selby in the Welsh Open Final last year and at 8-8 took on a very rash cross double which cost him the match.

It was great to see Ronnie keep his cool this time. He's getting better and better all the time which is ominous for the others. It appears Ronnie is the only person who can beat Ronnie - ie if he decides to throw away the match by not taking an interested as he did against Trump at the Grand Prix and Perry at the UK.

Would love to see Ronnie v Selby final at the Crucible.:snooker:

Selby threw at least four frames away .
Because of the barbed digs from Ronnie aimed at him, [ Pre tounament ] re his over cautious play , i think it influenced his shot selection ,especially on the shot he changed his mind on in the penultimate frame ,rather than snooker behind brown or green when 34 in front with 35 on ,he went for a cut with the extended rest on the brown , a shot he would make nine out of ten , but that was the ten , it cost him the match .
It was a good game, although the Ronnie dig during the presentation about proper snooker , and his slightly condracending assessment of selby ,lacked class .
Its an important tounament for kudos , but in real terms its only a series of glorified exhibition matches , as there are no ranking points at stake . and due to this the players appear to be more relaxed !.
Finally in my humble opinion Selby has peaked now and hell stay in the top 16 for a couple of seasons , until the Trumps , Allens , etc ,of this world apply the finishing touches to there games .

Is O'sullivan finally retaliating to those that use devious slow tactics? I think so. 3 minutes on 1 shot, glass of water and then roll into the pack

I dont know what it was flower but it did seem that Ronnie was different in his approach during this tournament. Maybe your right and there was an element of this in his matchplay. He was certainly very pleased to have won which was great to see.

That shot was full of sarcasm on Selby's account. Ronnie showed very well "how much" he appretiate Selby's type of play.
