Dont be so pessimistic mate. James Warren White is going to win the UK, then he will be in the masters.

    • Congratulations to McLeod. If he can play like he did in the last part of last years UK championship against Ronnie O´Sullivan, then he could be a thread to the established players.

      • I guess this will raise that old question

"Should the wildcard be contested as is it or should it be given to a young up and coming player?" Watch out..

I wonder will there be a big crowd in the arena to watch Rory Mcloud?

I like the current way the wildcards are decided with one from the qualifying tournament and one world snooker pick, i do however wish world snooker would pick a young up and comming player rather someone whos best is well behind them.

              • Well things are as they are and Rory won his ticket fair and square. I hope and think he will get good support. The young and coming could enter and if good enough could win. They haven't.

                Congrats Rory.

                • I seem to remember one of Mcloud's matches from last season, i think it was in the world championships, where his opponent was getting 'narked' and impatient over the time Rory was taking over his shots. There was a bit of atmsophere and needle building between them

I cant remeber for sure who the opponent was though. I seem to remember it being someoone like King or Mculoch. Any one remember this ?

I wonder if players like these remember these 'grudge matches', and retain a bit of needle towards certain people, or will it all be water under the bridge.

Like Andy Hicks and Quinten Hann for instance..

Lol, yes, or Alex Higgins and Dennis Taylor.

Theres no need to wonder if those two held onto their grudges though lol.

They very nearly came to blows at the end of a world champiosnship match after things grew more and more heated between them after "exchanging words"
