So it's over...
It was something like most of us expected I suppose. White didn't play well at all, and King was mediocre at best. It really is a shame that Liang Wenbo isn't in this part of the draw, I think he would have added a lot to the tournament.
Whether this decision will indeed result in an increased audience only time will tell, but I remain skeptical.
Looking forward to the rest of the tournament now.

So, the show is over. Great sportmannship from Jimmy, a few cool pots, a load of missed easy pots and a safety game that does not deserve that name. I think it has become obvious why he is some nr 62 in the rankings. Sad to see him get beaten by the c-game of his opponent, though. I hope we'll see better snooker tomorrow & the next wild cards being given for more capable players.Ten reds and not a colour...

The match was exactly what i expected, there were the odd flashes of brilliance from White but all in all it was an embarrassing performance from the Whirlwind.
King will certainly have to improve for his next match against Maguire tomorrow night, but i have to say i dont fancy his chances.."Statistics won't tell you much about me. I play for love, not records."

what a waste of wild card...
Nobody who knows anything about snooker would expect either player to be competitive enough to really go anywhere in The Masters....
BUT... they held a great "RALLY" on behalf on snooker and generated lots of enthusiasm. Barry should be pleased.
VIVA SNOOKER!!!

Jimmy was just unlucky.........
Only joking, overall i thought King was pretty poor, Jimmy was feeling the pressure of expectation but sadly we all have to concede the passage of time, he had his chances & showed flashes of the old magic, my heart hoped for better, my head says it was about right.
I've enjoyed all the pre match banter on the forum though since the wildcard was announced & regardless of who agreed or dis-agreed with the decision i still enjoyed seeing him walking into the Masters again.
Wish he could have pulled it out the bag...........but not to worry......he is & will always be a legend of the game & i'll always enjoy watching him play whether it be in competitive or exhibition matches as will all his fans .........

I actually fell asleep towards the end of this match. At least I saw Mark King's entrance, that was the best bit!!
Still, it's always nice to say I told you so!

I thought we all loved snooker and it's atmosphere. Can't deny there;s a hell of an atmosphere out there!
2. I wasn't.
If you had Alex Higgins, Ray Reardon and a free bar there'd also be a great atmosphere, doesn't mean it would promote the game to a new generation!
