The tension on him was nothing i've ever seen before. I've never seen an audience buzzing like that before. There was hell of a lot of pressure on White and he couldn't handle it IMO.

You also mention that King played poorly because White did. That's fair enough but surely your argument should be the same for Jimmy as well.
When Drago plays in Malta the same happens and he plays crap, compare his performance in Mosconi 2007 (not in Malta) with Mosconi 2008 (in Malta)

Hearn needs to create some sort of system where the game becomes more attractive.

How about 10 points for a red potted from the baulk if below the blue spot?

              20 points for a plant, 30 for a 3 ball plant, 40 for a 4 ball etc????

No this is exactly what snooker doesnt need to be quite blunt with you.

Yes, and they could put some kind of 'posts' arrangment at either end, in which the player has to shoot the black through. How about they change the reds to a different colour? Silver, maybe? Tunnels... they could have tunnels leading to the pockets. This would speed up the game as the pots would be easier. Let's ditch the cues too, and use a club type of thing. The players can either use the handle of the club like a conventional cue, or climb up on the table and 'put' the balls for bonus points.

I'm not even sure I like the name 'snooker' either.

As for the White Vs King match, my goosebumps had goosebumps when he walked on. From there on, however, there's one word which perfectly describes the crowd's behaviour to Jimmy: Patronising.

                • There is absoloutlely nothing the matter with the game itself. If someone wants to start tampering with the rules, then they should create a brand new game like they did with pool and called it 9 ball.

Still cannot believe that reception for Jimmy White. I can't think of a better one in any sport, ever. A moment in sport that will live long in the memory.

If they brought back the doubles tournament, would Jimmy be able to partner Alex Higgins?

The game is in crisis, and since I love the game I try to improve it, what are your ideas for the game? Or are you happy to see it die without trying to come up with something?

                    • The problem with Jimmy nowdays is the "People's Champion" title. It's too heavy and he just can't handle it.
Unlike the vast majority of the other pro players he has to perform well not just for himself but mostly for all his supporters. That's an extremely heavy stone for someone to carry on his shoulders. Add to that the whole wildcard issue...
And I don't think anybody could handle that kind of pressure.

We all appreciate yur love for the game - we feel it too - but changing the basis of the game ie the points system is not the correct route to take.

                        • I agree, there is (nothing wrong with the game) whatsover, it is perfectly fine as it is, and if you asked most people on this forum and the majority of today's professionals they would probably say the same thing.

If it ain't broke dont fix it!

Agree totally and i think it's something a lot of people will overlook.

We also have to remember that he's been on the pro circuit for 30 years. Thats some going considering the amount of players there are these days.
