An underwhelming match. Pretty solid performance from Selby, but he didn't make himself one of the immediate favourites today. But he's in the 2nd round, so he has an opportunity to improve.

I'm looking forward to Ebdon-Fu now. They're both very inconsistent, but my feeling is that it's time for Fu to play a good tournament, while I expect Ebdon to be at his best towards the end of the season. This could be a good match if both players play well, but I'd say there's more chance that both players play poorly.

Ding was quite poor (shot selection at times ) and that's a bit surprising after the way he played in the UK. Mark who is feeling poorly played conservatively and intelligently. Totally deserved win.

Allen has had a relatively quiet season so far, and does not have the best of records against John Higgins, but i still think he has a pretty decent chance against John..

I think so, too! The longer format would definitely be in John's favour but the best-of-11 may just give Allen an edge & John looks like he's been competing in everything in the last couple of months so he maybe a bit drained! Should be a good match though :snooker:
