Ronnie was funny in the studio, he'd rather have teeth pulled then play Ebdon !
Also he wanted Ken in a thong between rounds, i wonder why Steve didn't seem to find it to funny i was laughing my head off.
I was glad to hear Ronnie say he won't mind if he loses as he half expects it these days and like someone said he could have given in at 0-3 today but a wicked comeback to win the remaining frames 6-1, well done Ronnie.
Yes that is how it looked to me...great interview though, and as usual Ronnie was as unpredictable as ever in his interview. Even suggesting to Ken that he should wear a mankini..
"Statistics won't tell you much about me. I play for love, not records."
You, guuuuyss!
Seeing Robertson pot everything in sight for three frames, smashing long ones in right into the heart of the pocket and not looking like missing, all I wanted was for Ronnie to get a frame. Honest. Y'know, to honour the ageless evertonian cliche, "to avoid the dreaded whitewash".
And take one frame he did.
Then he kept missing long ones but finding his touch when in the balls.
What a great match! A self-assured, maybe too much of it, Robertson, and a determined Ronnie. And four centuries. And a frame won on the black. And a pink potted with both feet in the air. And an explosive reaction from Neil when winning the third. And some excellent safety, where Ronnie's percentage was slightly better than Neil's. (C'mon, he HAD to make up for his lovely long pot success now, right?)
Phew.
And now I demand recordings of the post-match interview. For I want to hear the words "thong" and "Ken" in the same sentence.
(I am not demanding, I'm merely asking nicely. Pleeeeeeaaaseee! *kitten eyes*)
You have to give credit to O'Sullivan for coming back from 0-3 and the pressure Robertson was applying. I always love to watch two great players playing their best, with neither of them cracking.
It's a shame that the four best players in the tournament so far played amongst themselves, and only two have come through. So, O'Sullivan joins Murphy (or goes above him actually) in the group of players playing title-worthy snooker. And of the bin guns, only John Higgins remains to be seen.
Seemed to me Robbo somewhat cracked a little towards the end. 1-2 imperfect safeties, 1-2 missed balls... Otherwise it did not seem Ronnie would have had a chance in this match.
Robbo was so plain flawless at the start. It should of hurt Ronnie quite a bit that he lost frame 3 where Robbo landed a snooker and potted everything afterwards... Kind of even strange it didn't.
And it's a big shame about such guys meeting in round 1. Gets so cruel these days time from time

Davis was "squirming" because SOME people would have seen the interview re: Ebdon as "controversial" and he could'nt possibly be seen joining in....could he? haha
A self-assured, maybe too much of it, Robertson, and a determined Ronnie.
Was he? To me he merely looked confident.
During the first five frames I could see.
Robbo's potting is so good he doesn't need to bother with positional play like the rest of the players. He laughs in the face of those who spend hours on the practice table perfecting their cue ball control! ~ Forman 2009 Grand Prix Fantasy Game winner
I can remember a moment
frame 5, 3-1 ahead Robbo with 100 long pot success tried a very tricky one and missed...could have played a safety and win frame in the end
