I disagree about the walk on music not working. Heres why.
My Girlfriend suffers the snooker while i watch it. She's usually reading a book at the same time. I do try and get her into it and she knows the players names. She was never fussed on Mark King but when she saw his walk on she thought it was pretty funny and she said "I like him now". Same goes for me with Mark Allen just there on his walk on.
As the players get more comfortable with the walk ons i think it will give an opportunity to put across their personality and therefor people will care who wins and loses in some of the less glamorous matchups.
Having walk on music for a game which is played in silence seems a bit chalk and cheese.
so are you saying if snooker is played in waistcoats and bowties everyone in the audience should wear them too?
people are encouraged to cheer when a player is introduced. thats one hell of a noise for a game that is played in silence. why not add a bit of music to it.
I thought I'd just say that I think the music thing is awful.
Cheesy at best, embarrassing at worst.
It's not darts or wrestling which may warrant such infantile behaviour. I don't think snooker should be Cowell-ised to be honest.
But that's just my opinion!
