BBC Camera Angles

Does anyone else think the BBC have changed tact slightly with the camera angles this tournament?

Maybe its just me but I have seen a lot of camera angles right down the cue this tournament, I even paused and rewinded a few times some of them to look at the players grip. The "lets ignore the player and watch the shiny ball dissapear" mentality they have had before seems to have changed to me?

Just as I post this thread the show a side of view of Ryan Day showing stance and everything, I'm sure they have changed the camera angles? But I'm liking it

I'm just wondering if anyone else has noticed anything... Theres another shot of Days grip as he strikes the ball... I'm not complaining I'm impressed and hope they keep it up in the future! Watching the players technique is much more interesting than watching a ball filling the screen fall in a pocket!

So have I but not often! I'm seeing quite a few angles this tournament like that compared to normal though. I've been complaining for ages at the BBC's obsession with watching the shiny balls not the player and they might be halfway to fixing that

They physically have more room at the Masters than most events I guess, helps with that sort of shot.

Thats a point. But I still don't remember that many angles like this in the previous masters tournaments?
Maybe they realised instead of just doing the same thing every tournament they will make the most of each venue?

I remember they also showed Maguire's and Ronnie's grip, and probably more.

What I hate time from time is that they show a close up of feathering (pretty much just the white ball and the cue tip), and then always switch to full table/larger view for the shot itself - when I want to see if the actual stroke matched the feathering

I think they focus on something if the commentators are actually talking about a particular aspect of a player eg grip, stance. I don't think it's the directors who initiate those kind of shots?

The shot I like most is when tournaments get down to the one table and they have a side on of the table showing the full length, I was hoping to see being using all week here but don't think i've seen it yet maybe today/tomorrow if they change anything around.
