                  O'Sullivan finishes in style.

He played very well up to 4-0, but he could have been in trouble against a Murphy after the interval. Not a classic by any means, and somewhat ruined by the audience, but I enjoyed it.

                  Bring on Murphy and Williams.

                        Have to disagree mate.
That was one of the most relaxed, honest self-observations I have ever heard from O'Sullivan.
The banter with his childhood hero was wonderful.
An... OK lads I'll buy the next round kind of session.
                        I loved it!

                            So, on to Murphy-Williams.

I agree with some that this could be the most interesting QF match. It's probably the only one where both players played good stuff in the 1st round. Murphy missed a couple towards the end of his match against Hendry, but he did make some crafty breaks early on. Williams' performance was similar, a couple of great breaks, and a couple of scrappy frames towards the end, all of which he won. If they both repeat their performances, there isn't much between them. Having said that, Murphy is a fairly consistent player who can play to a reasonable standard even on an off day. You can't say that for Williams though. His performance against Ding in the Grand Prix was nowhere near his previous form in that tournament, and his loss against Peter Lines at the UK was unexpected as well, as he played quite well in the 1st round. Then there is also his injury... It didn't affect him against Carter, but it could play a part in this match, especially if it's long and close. So a slight edge for Murphy perhaps, although the Masters is not his best tournament, and it could maybe inspire Williams more than him.

Not too confident about it, but I predicted a 6-5 for Williams.

I foresee a very close game in this one. They have been playing well for some time and their ability to win the frames not-in-a-pretty-way will be a key factor. Still, I'm giving Williams the slight edge in this one, especially considering he'll boosted by his strong performance against Carter. Same for Murphy, also.

One more key factor is Williams' focus, as he makes the toughest of the long ones, then rattle the sitters out, if he is not giving his head to the match. I hope he's well concentrated for a win, which would set up one of the classic matchups of the game: Ronnie O'Sullivan v. Mark J Williams
